Ken River Lodge Panna National Park

Ken River lodge Had a very humble beginning as one of the leaders of wildlife tourism in the country. Mr. Shamyendra Singh had a passion for wildlife and conservation, and he established this lodge in 1986. One must know that it runs in the blood as he is the grandson of Maharaja of nagod and somewhere the royal family was always about wildlife. In 1992 and 2005 the lodge was twice washed out in floods. But it was never given up on and it was rebuilt with the same passion. The lodge is spread across fifty acres of forest land. One must know that it was built only with natural materials sourced from the neighboring areas. The forested estate is home to plenty of mammal’s birds and reptiles.

It is fondly known as the tree house by locals for its amazing restaurant overlooking the beautiful Ken river. It is one of the best places to get lost in the world. One needs to know that it is spread in this sprawling jungle of at least fifty acres. At the same time, people need to know that it offers a great opportunity to laze with crocodile’s roar with the tigers and also soar with the birds. It offers a right blend of typical royal hospitality and comfortable living.

Premium Huts

One must know that there are eight bullet style air-conditioned huts present in the lodge with contemporary bathrooms and dressing rooms. The best part about it is that they are spread out in a mixed jungle giving a perfect jungle experience which is just unparalleled. Additionally, the huts are closer to the main public area of this lodge.

Family Cottages

If one is planning a family holiday, then this lodge is just their best bet. There are five AC cottages with two-bedroom units and one large living room there is also a pantry in each the cottage is the perfect choice for a family of around four to five people. Additionally, the cottage is spread in the forested estate, and it is just five to 10 minutes’ walk from the common area.

Village Cottage

The lodge also gives a great option for staying in the non-AC Villa. It is a double story and a spacious space for a huge group. One must know that the villa has around four bedrooms. Three bedrooms are available on the first floor and one bedroom is available on the ground floor. There is also personal parking available. The fully contained villa is just around five hundred meters from the machan dining hall.

Machan Dining Hall

The lodge features three thousand square feet of machan where meals are served. The machan is prominently known as the treehouse as it overlooks the beautiful Ken river. One can expect how well-trained a team and local staff can make their state a memorable one.

Activity- Jungle Safari

The lodge also features jungle safari in Suzuki jeeps. One can expect a morning safari or an evening safari. These safaris are organized every day and trained experts will be available for the safari, these experts can give the tourists a better insight into the National Park.

Boat Ride

People can enjoy the carefree boat ride on the amazing cane river with hands-on experience in Voting. The local boatmen are always there to help people furthermore inside the park. There is also a one-hour ride on the motorized boat where one can find the crocodiles if they are lucky. The river ecosystem features a great opportunity for people who love bird watching. This is especially true in the winter months as there are some migratory birds also here.

Night Safari

Panna offers amazing wilderness that people can explore under the night light. The nightlife can be witnessed on a safari and if one is lucky, they can spot slot bear leopards, jungle cat, porcupine blue bull and chital. Even though less frequently but if one is lucky, they can spot wolves, rusty spotted cats and leopard cats.

Khajuraho

A World Heritage site known for its amazing temples is just half an hour drive from the lodge. Ajaygarh and kalinjar forts are completely a must visit for a close view into Bundelkhand. The lodge organizes amazing tools for its guests to all the destinations on prior request one can visit during 20th to Feb 26th of Feb as the famous festival of Indian classical dance is organized during that time.

Waterfalls

Pana is the land of amazing waterfalls including pandav waterfalls and they are located in the reserve forest. One can visit the Raneh falls and also visit the Gharials sanctuary.

Panna National Park is spread across 1645 square kilometers and it was carved out of the hunting reserves of Bajawar and Chhatarpur states one must know that the total area 543 square kilometer is core and 1002 square kilometers is ideally A buffer it became the 22nd tiger reserve in 1994 and it is predominantly an open forest and it offers a great opportunity for people to view animals like tiger chital sloth bear and sambar the national park is also home to several crocodiles and more than 300 species of bird.
